Barbering Level 2 Diploma at Heart of Worcestershire College

Course description

Do you dream of being a stylist to the stars? Owning your own barbering shop? This intermediate course provides students with essential, basic, technical, communication and numeracy skills which will give access to a variety of career options. You will learn how to advise and consult with clients, shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp, basic barbering techniques, cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques, dry and finish men’s hair and change men’s hair colour.

Entry requirements

You must have 4 GCSEs A-D including English and maths or an appropriate Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject. 

Assessment

As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. The portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. Each unit is delivered individually, so you can work at your own pace and be assessed when you feel ready.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course will allow you to consider progression onto a Diploma in Barbering, Level 3 (subject to successful interview).

Alternatively you may also choose to progress to work-based training or employment.

Subjects taught at Alliance House include bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, site carpentry, bench joinery, multi-trade construction operations, plastering, plumbing and painting and decorating. The building is equipped with purpose built working environments allowing you to develop real-life working skills to prepare you for life after college.

      Located on Albert Street, Osprey House is the College’s central office. It is also home to the College’s higher education and professional courses. Our excellent range of higher education and professional courses provide you with the skills, knowledge and support to progress in your future career.
