ICT A/S at Queensbury School

Course description

This specification provides a suitable foundation for the study of ICT or a related area through a range of higher education courses (e.g. Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Computing) or direct entry into employment.  In addition, the specification provides a coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study for students who do not progress to further study in this subject.

Course content

Information Systems - Uses of ICT, Human Computer Interface, Social Issues, Health and Safety Issues, acceptable use of ICT and legislation.

Presenting Information Task - Coursework task where you will plan and create documents for a real organisation.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's grades C or above are required including a C grade in English to follow a full A Level programme.  You need to have passed your ICT Option course at KS4 (CiDA/OCR Nationals Level 2) at Grade B or above, Merit at OCR National.

Assessment

One exam and one coursework unit.
