Course description

The aim of this course is to give learners a second chance at education by brushing up on their academic skills in preparation for either re-entering employment or studying at a higher level. Course topics include: Extended Studies, Introduction to Social Science, Psychology, Sociology, Social Policy and Study Skills (including Preparing for Higher Education & ICT). The diploma is accepted by many universities instead of the mandatory 3 subject A Levels. The additional benefit of the diploma structure is that it also enables you to develop confidence, self esteem and enhance your interpersonal skills. The course is delivered through a combination of classroom activities and private study. Your tutor will provide the help and support you need to produce your work and complete your studies as there are plenty of opportunities for both individual and group tutorials. Functional Skills classes will also be part of the course so your Maths and English skills will also be improved.
