A Level Further Mathematics at Lady Margaret School

Course description

This course builds on the subject content of A Level Mathematics so you must also be studying AS Mathematics. In Pure Mathematics new and established topics are considered further; for example, complex numbers, matrix algebra, differential equations, Maclaurin and Taylor series. In Statistics, mathematical models are applied to probability and statistics and Decision Mathematics includes some more unusual topics such as critical path analysis and networks. (This course may be taken as an AS Level).

The course extends the range of mathematical skills and techniques learnt. It encourages and develops an understanding of the coherence and progression in Mathematics and how different areas of Mathematics can be connected.
