Mathematics GCSE (Evening) at Banbury and Bicester College

Course description

We are delighted to offer a standalone GCSE Mathematics course.

This course comprises of lessons of three hours a week plus blended learning through our Virtual Learning Environment and other online resources. We have both an evening class and a daytime class. You will be expected to do additional study at home and, while not essential, internet access is an advantage.

Course content

This is GCSE Mathematics, delivered in one academic year. The course assesses students’ abilities to understand mathematical ideas and utilise mathematical techniques.

There are three core units:
• Number and algebra
• Geometry and algebra 
• Statistics and number

Entry requirements

You will take part in a pre-course skills check which will assess your mathematical understanding.
While previous GCSE grades are not a requirement, learners who hold a GCSE at grade D or Functional Skills at level 2 will find this course suitable to improve their qualification portfolio.

Future opportunities

This course can prepare you for an Access to Higher Education Diploma and can assist with employment opportunities.

      • Continue down A422 and leave roundabout onto A361, Southam Road. Turn left on A361 (Southam Road) on to Horse Fair.
      • Leave the roundabout onto B4035, West Bar Street. Follow West Bar Street on to Broughton Road and the main entrance to the campus is on the right hand side.

      The Banbury Campus is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the train and bus station.
