Course description

Aims of the course:
To gain knowledge and understanding of philosophical arguments and research. To be able to analyse and evaluate independently the strengths and weaknesses of such arguments. To be able to argue / justify a viewpoint using evidence and scholars’ input.

Course content:
Year 12 is a combination of Philosophy (Argument for the Existence of God; Problem of Evil and Miracles) and Ethics (Utilitarianism, Situation Ethics and Just War and Pacifism).
Year 13 is a combination of Philosophy (Religious Language, Religious Experience) and Theology – a critical analysis of Luke’s Gospel.

Entry requirements

A*-B grade in RE at GCSE level
