Computer Science AS/A-Level at Cranford Community College
Lessons involve both taught theory and practical activity depending on the component. All necessary resources will be provided to support throughout the course, including resources on the virtual learning environment. Students will be required to work independently on the practical Programming Project.
The school has outstanding facilities and the students will be expected to make full use of these facilities both in the timetabled lessons and in their study periods. Students will also be encouraged to attend the Coding Club to increase their programming knowledge.
The course will enable students to learn advanced computational thinking skills that will be useful in both Higher Education and Employment. They will develop the understanding and ability to apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science.
Normally C in English, B in Maths, B in Computing or ICT.
