Course description

This one year apprenticeship is ideal for you if you want to make a career in caring for other people as a Healthcare Assistant or a Healthcare Support Worker in the Healthcare Sector.

You will have a caring, compassionate nature and a desire to improve the day to day lives of people. You will be discreet and conscientious.

You will spend one day per week in College working towards the L2 Diploma in Health and Social Care and four days per week working in a care setting.

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C including English and Maths at grade 4 (grade C)

In certain circumstances we will accept variations to this entry guide and create a personalised programme.

Assessment

Your practical skills will be assessed in the workplace on a regular basis by visiting College assessors. Your knowledge will be assessed through assignment work set by your College tutors.

You need to be in employment - College staff may be able to help you but you will probably need to apply for vacancies on the National Apprenticeship Online Vacancy website.
