Film Studies AS & A Level at Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College

Course description

Film is one of our greatest art forms, with the ability both to entertain and move us. But how are films crafted to achieve these effects? In Film Studies you will learn about a range of films, how they were made, their historical context – and get to do some filmmaking yourself. You will explore areas such as genre, story construction and critical theory. You will develop your analytical and research skills.

GCSE English Language Grade C

Future opportunities

It could lead to further study at degree level and careers in the media and education. You should have an interest in films from different periods of time.
