Front of House Reception Intermediate Apprenticeship at West Herts College
Develop your customer service skills for work in hotels and similar reception areas. As the front-facing member of your organisation you will be responsible for a variety of reception tasks including bookings, customer arrivals and departures, billings, handling mail, using office equipment and general customer service.
Examples of subject areas include:
Work effectively as part of a hospitality team Give customers a positive impression of self and your organisation Deal with communications as part of the reception function Deal with arrival of customers Deal with bookings Prepare customer accounts and deal with departures Promote additional services or products to customers
The qualification is achieved by gaining practical experience at work. You will also be required to achieve a Level 1 award in English and maths and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.
After completion of this course, you could progress onto other courses such as Level 3 Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, or Level 2 Team leading.
