Statistics A Level at Cirencester College
By studying AS or A level Statistics you will learn how to analyse data and make predictions, as well as learning about the limitations of statistical results. In particular, you will learn about the extremely useful skill of Hypothesis Testing, which enables you to test claims that are made. E.g. Suppose you claimed that significantly more students in your school are good at maths than at most schools, how might you prove it? By learning about different Probability Distribution Models and the technique of Hypothesis Testing, you will be able to answer questions like these.
Whilst a course in Statistics is interesting in its own right, it also supports other subjects with statistical content such as the Sciences, Economics, Psychology and Geography.
Minimum grade 6 in GCSE Maths.
