Health & Social Care (Adults) for England CACHE Level 3 Diploma at West Herts College

Course description

Working in social care will give you the opportunity to help many different people lead fulfilling lives. This high-level course covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures and legislation.

Course content

You will study a range of subjects including:

  • The role of the health and social care worker

  • Promoting person-centred approaches in health and social care

  • Understanding the process and experience of dementia

  • Understanding the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities

Alongside your studies you will continue to develop your English and maths skills and take part in GAP work placement opportunities to improve your employability skills.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs (A*–C) including English, maths and science preferable, or Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, a course introduction meeting and a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Future opportunities

Further study includes progression on to the second year of this course and if successful you can progress to university.
