Is this the right subject for me?

The BTEC National Diploma in Sport will appeal to you if:

  • you are interested in following a vocational qualification in sport that prepares you for further study employment or university entry
  • you are a capable sports performer, official or coach
  • you are interested in a course that is assessed via internally set and marked coursework assignments
  • you have the ability to manage your time effectively and work independently
  • you wish to explore the theoretical aspects of sports performance

    What will I learn?
    Sport and physical activity are a vital and expanding part of modern life. The impact of London 2012 has yet to be seen, although it is certain that the legacy of such an important event will drive further development in sport and physical activity. This course will equip you to develop and apply your skills knowledge and techniques to differing physical activity situations and contexts.

    The BTEC National Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to 1 A Level and the BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to 2 A levels.

  • Entry requirements

    Students need to achieve at least 5 GCSE grade C qualifications and at least a C grade in PE. Ideally students should currently be an active participant in sport.
