Course description

Course Structure and Content:

Unit 1 Aspects of Narrative: Written paper, open book (2 hours) 84 marks Four texts to study: Two novels (at least one post 1990) and two poetry texts written between 1800-1945. The paper has two sections. Candidates answer one question from each section.

Unit 2 Dramatic Genres: This is a coursework module. There is a minimum of two texts for study within the dramatic genre of Comedy. A portfolio of two pieces of written work will be produced (one may be re-creative) each essay is between 1200-1500 words. One text must be a Shakespearean text.

You may only be considered for a place in year 13 if you achieve a pass grade in this subject. To ensure your place in year 13 you should achieve your target grade or better in this subject

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade B or above in English Literature and a Grade B or above in English Language
