Welding and Fabrication Apprenticeship at Northampton College

Course description

There is a high demand for qualified welders and fabricators. This Apprenticeship will help to train your workforce to national standards. An Apprenticeship can be tailored to suit the daily routines of your business, resulting in optimum effectiveness from a loyal employee with minimum disruption to your company. The Apprentice will complete the following: - Performing Engineering Operations QCF Level 2 - Technical Certificate in Welding and Fabrication Practice Level 2 - Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English - Employees Rights and Responsibilities - Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Examples of units covered: - MIG Welding - TIG Welding - Fabrication The programme is primarily delivered at the workplace although attendance at the College will be required one day per week.

Course content

Welding is one of the few remaining crafts used in manufacture and construction and an Apprenticeship will increase the skills and knowledge whilst working within that environment. This means they will learn the skills that work best for your company. Apprenticeships can make your business more productive and effective by addressing your skills gaps.

Entry requirements

You must be in relevant employment to start an Apprenticeship and pass an initial assessment in English and Maths.
