Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Extended/90 Credit Diploma at Haringey Sixth Form Centre

Course description

You will study:

  • Health, safety and security in health and social care.
  • Effective communication.
  • Development through the life stages.
  • Sociological perspectives in health and social care.
  • Counselling skills.
  • Diet and nutrition.
  • Caring for children and young people.

You will undertake 100 hours of work experience in the health and social care sector.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at A*-C grade (to include a C grade in GCSE English Language) OR Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Health & Social Care (at merit or distinction) with a C grade in GCSE English Language. You may need to undergo an enhanced CRB check (to prove that you don't have a criminal record).

Where it leads:

Access to a wider range of careers, for example, you will be able to either take up employment as a care worker working with the elderly, children and young people or people with disabilities, or possibly take up a health and social care apprenticeship or progress to university to study a related degree.
