Course description

A-Level Philosophy and Ethics (Religious Studies) is a subject that really gets you thinking about and considering the big questions of life. You will examine the evidence and arguments for and against the existence of God, as well as delving into the key problem of evil and suffering. You will consider what makes a decision morally right, examining different ethical theories and weighing up their usefulness in the modern world. An in-depth study into medical ethics explores the practical application of key ethical and religious concepts and shows how important this subject is in modern life.

Entry requirements

At least a grade 6 in Religious Education (if taken) and a grade 6 in English Language.  If not, 6 in a related subject i.e. History/English Literature.

    • Turton Sixth Form is located on Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross.  The college is across the road from Bromley Cross train station, and is on a direct line 8 minutes from Bolton.  Buses from Bradshaw, Sharples, Smithills, Edgworth, Belmont and Astley Bridge regularly run past the school.
