Hairdressing Advanced Apprenticeship at Northampton College

Course description

This is a Level three advanced apprenticeship for those who have already achieved a Level two apprenticeship and are looking to progress in their careers.This framework consists of:- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing - Functional Skills at Level 2 in Maths and EnglishThis course requires college attendance for one day per week at our Lower Mounts site with the opportunity to be involved in the college Hairdressing show at the end of the year.

Course content

Employed as a Hairdresser who is looking to progress within this field and develop their skills further. The applicant will also need to pass an English and Maths diagnostic assessment at Level 2.

Entry requirements

Employed as a hairdresser and pass Level 2 diagnostics in English and Maths with 50% or more.


The course is assessed through exams sat in college, a portfolio of evidence that is assessed in the work place and in the college and the functional skills are assessed through exams.
