Computer Science BTEC at Tring School

The Edexcel L3 BTEC in Computer Science gives students the opportunity to explore computing within a vocational context, covering a wide range of units. Using the well-resourced computer labs, students will be able to complete portfolio based work on projects to demonstrate their understanding of computing in a range of contexts.
Students have mandatory units to complete in communication and employability skills, as well as computer systems. They will then move on to studying more speciﬁc units in computer programming and website design.
Grade 4 in GCSE English Language and Grade 5 in GCSE Maths
Equivalent in size to two A Levels.
10 units of which 6 are mandatory and 2 are external.
Mandatory content (67%).
External assessment (33%).
