Entry requirements

To gain entry to the course it is desirable that you have previously achieved a L2 diploma with an overall Merit profile, or four GCSE passes at ‘C’ or above, including English. Some practical experience in performing arts would also be useful. Where clear knowledge, desire or experience is evident, some or all of the requirements could be wavered.

Assessment

Work is assessed through the completion of assignments. These will be predominantly practical and performance based with supporting evidence of reflective thought. You will be required to undertake relevant research, and present your findings. Practical units will usually culminate in a performance to the general public. These can be at the college theatre, a ‘site-specific’ venue, or at Theatre Severn in the town. A sample of students’ work will be seen by an external moderator to ensure national standards are sustained.
