Maintenance Operations Level 2 Diploma at East Surrey College

Course description

Develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work in a variety of industries. This course has been specifically developed to be delivered in a realistic working environment and covers a number of construction industries. You will learn the basic skills required for the industry, work as part of a team, and cover health and safety, whilst working in fully equipped and realistic workshops. This course is a combination of practical work and theory.

Course content

Units/topics covered:
 Know how to carry out safe working practices in construction
 Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others
 Knowledge of building methods and construction technology
 Know how to carry out small scale masonry trade repairs
 Know how to carry out small scale painting, decorating and associated trade repairs
 Know how to carry out small scale plastering trade repairs

Entry requirements

Basic Construction Skills Level 1 Diploma.

If you are under 19 on 31/08/2016, tuition is free. If you are 19 or over please consult Client Services for advice and guidance on funding and eligibility.
Please be aware that there may be additional costs for equipment and educational visits. This information will be available from the curriculum staff at interview.

Future opportunities

Construction Level 3 Extended Diploma. You may also wish to apply for an NVQ or an apprenticeship or work in the Construction Industry.

Further information

To meet health and safety requirements within our realistic work environment, learners must provide steel toe-capped boots/safety shoes and must wear suitable clothing.
