Law AS A Level at Saint Mary's College, Blackburn

Course description

the study of Law at this level allows students to pursue a vast array of careers. Obviously, students considering the study of Law at university and beyond in practice, will find the subject invaluable. Much of the material that you will study in your first year as an undergraduate will be studied at SMC, giving you a real advantage. Those considering a course or career outside the Law will still find the course useful. Many past students of Law at SMC have gone on to study Law at university, as well as unrelated subjects such as Management and Journalism to name but a few. The essence of the course is criminal law. Topics such as murder, theft and GBH will offer an interesting understanding of the Criminal Justice System. You will also study and visit the courts to get a flavour of how criminal justice is dispensed. Law at SMC also takes an international perspective. Our students can take advantage of the Law Department’s sponsored visits to Brussels and New York!
