Design and Technology - Graphics Products GCSE at Firth Park Academy

Course content

You will develop sketching and drawing techniques and effectively use a range of graphic media including pencils, crayons, pastels, marker pens, drawing boards and computer software packages for C.A.D. You will look at how graphical products are designed and manufactured. You will use a range of tools and materials to make 3D models and produce mock ups.

Entry requirements

An interest in the way we have worked in Design and Technology in years 7, 8 and 9. You must have an interest in design and problem solving, and in drawing and model making. You must be prepared to work at home. You need materials for graphics such as pencils, pencil crayons and felt tips.


Coursework Project - This is a project consisting of a design folder and developed 3D solutions to a problem. 60%

A theory examination paper based on a design context. 40%
