Level 3 Introductory Diploma in Performing Arts at Ormiston Forge Academy

Course description

Pupils complete 6 units over the two years of the course and achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction for each unit. The units are as follows:

  • Skills Development in Performing Arts
  • Professional Practice in Performing Arts
  • Community Arts Project
  • Historical Context of Performance
  • Performance Workshop
  • Contemporary Performance

Pupils complete each unit ensuring all performance and written requirements are met. Work is assessed ongoing by the teacher.

Candidates who achieve this qualification may go on to study Performing Arts at University or specialist Performing Arts colleges. It may also prove useful to pupils considering a career in the Live Theatre Industry as a teacher or in Performance Therapy.

Entry requirements

Pupils should have studied either GCSE or BTEC Drama or Performing Arts achieving either a Pass or C grade. Pupils may need to audition to be accepted onto the course depending on prior experience and qualifications.
