Media Studies at Immanuel College

Course description

This is a demanding and enjoyable course and you will need to be able to be an independent and active viewer and reader. You will need to be able to present convincing and well-supported opinions based on close visual analysis.

The course develps the understanding of how media texts are produced and consumed by audiences. Media Studies is viewed as a versatile and valuable course by universities and employers. The aims of the course are to develop students interest in and enjoyment of a variety of media platforms in :

Entry requirements

You must have passed your GCSE English , preferably with a Grade C or above. You dont need to have studied Media before.

Future opportunities

Students may go on to study courses in English, Drama, Arts, Social Sciences, Media and Education, but many students have also found Media a rewarding subject to go alongside science options.
