Intermediate Apprenticeship in Aviation Operations on the Ground (Mover) at RAF Apprenticeships

Course description

An apprenticeship in the RAF offers you the chance to gain a UK-recognised trade qualification as part of a challenging and unique career. Not only will you gain a civilian recognised professional qualification, but upon completion you’ll also have a guaranteed job in your chosen field.

We offer all kinds of apprenticeships in a broad and diverse range of careers including aviation operations, engineering, hospitality & catering and IT. You’ll receive the very best training and accelerated pay, and as well as getting paid to learn, you’ll get the chance to travel the world, play sport and perform an important role in the RAF.

If you have the drive and ambition, we can offer you a unique and rewarding career. To gain an apprenticeship in the RAF you still need to meet all of the entry requirements for whichever role it is for and get through all stages of the application process. You will gain the apprenticeship as part of your phase two (trade) training.

“Learners arrive from all walks of life and the majority want civilian qualifications so when the day comes for them to return to civilian life their RAF training and experience will be recognised by potential civilian employers. Both the Apprenticeship including Technical Certificate have been fully crossed mapped to the Basic Movements Training Course held at the Defence Movements Training School and further embraces the comprehensive on-thejob record of competence.

Further information

“It’s a really challenging job. I didn’t think the training would be as long and as intense as it has been. The Maths and English refresher definitely helped with the job. The training is all integrated and I am putting all my knowledge into good practice. It has given me confidence to take what I have learned at the training school into the wider RAF workplace environment. I would strongly recommend apprenticeships”
