Mathematics– A level at Hitchin Girls School

Course description

The course covers: AS Units - Introduction to Advanced
Mathematics, Concepts for Advanced Mathematics and
one applied module. A2 Units - Methods for Advanced
Mathematics, Applications of Advanced Mathematics
and a further applied module. Applied modules are
taken from either Mechanics, Statistics or Decision
Mathematics.
You will learn through a variety of methods including
problem solving exercises and practical tasks. For
some units you also have to complete a longer piece
of coursework. This allows you to use the knowledge
you have acquired in a more practical situation. All
units are assessed by written exam with a coursework
element in Unit 3.
