Sport Level 2 Diploma at West Herts College
There’s never been a better time to get involved in the sport and leisure industry, especially for young people as the sector employs a large number of 16 to 24 year olds. If you have a passion for sport, this is the course for you.
The course examines sports performance and the sports industry:
Fitness testing and training
Anatomy and physiology
Injury in sport
Development of personal fitness
Effects of exercise on the body systems
There will be opportunities to improve your English and maths and take part in GAP work placements. It’s also possible to gain coaching awards.
3 GCSEs (A*-D) or successful completion of Level 1 programme. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.
You’ll gain the skills you need to find work or progress your studies to a higher level. You can progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. Alternatively, you can start work straight away in the leisure industry – in sports coaching or as a sports assistant, for instance.
