Music A level at Wollaston School
The main purpose of any course in music is to develop the student’s ability to appreciate the world of music through the study of existing works and become enabled to respond in a personal and creative way through both performance and composition.
The skills students will develop will be varied, including: developing ability to analyse music with reference to harmony, tonality, melody, texture, structure, rhythm and meter, being able to place music heard within a context of time and purpose, instrument specific performance skills, techniques of composition which are applied to their own creative work.
