BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Performing Arts - Drama at Chiltern Hills Academy

Course description

The course consists of one mandatory unit plus five optional units for the completed qualification of a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts at a Pass, Merit or Distinction level. The overall two year BTEC qualification is equivalent to one GCE A Level grade.

The mandatory unit is:

  • Performing to an audience

    Five optional units can be chosen from these units of work:

  • Devising plays
  • Theatre in education
  • Theatre for children
  • Classical theatre performance
  • Contemporary theatre performance
  • Entry requirements

    The most important thing you need in order to take this course is a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in Performing Arts, a willing ability to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.In Year 12 the students will complete the AS version of the course called the Certificate, then in Year 13 the students can continue and achieve an A2 version called the Subsidiary Diploma.
