Construction - Diploma in Bricklaying level 2 at Kirklees College, Huddersfield Centre

Course description

If you want to build a career or improve your skills in bricklaying or masonry work, this course is for you.

The structure of the course combines practical workshops and valuable theory which provides the underpinning knowledge required to increase your quality of work and performance.

Course content

The course covers:

  • thin joint system of internal walls,
  • one brick wall with attached piers,
  • masonry cladding,
  • cavity wall construction.

The course also offers integrated literacy and numeracy within the knowledge delivery element.

Entry requirements

A Level 1 qualification and appropriate English and maths.

Assessment

You will be assessed throughout the course, including practical synopsis assessment and a global online assessment (GOLA) test towards the end of the course.

Future opportunities

Diploma in Brickwork level 3 or an Apprenticeship if you have a suitable job.
