Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care at Leeds City College

Course description

This course allows you to build up your knowledge of working in the care sector.

You will develop this knowledge accross six main modules, considering the relevant skills for working with adults, children and young people. You will also have the opportunity to further your knowledge of health and wellbeing, creative activities, or infection prevention and control as an extra area of study.

Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSE's at grade D including English and Maths. We would also take in account prior experience and general suitability for working in this sector. All applicants must have a successful interview and a satisfactory reference. All candidates must be committed to working in the Health and Social Care sector, be caring, creative and energetic, have a sense of humour and a lively and outgoing personality.

To work with children (under 18) or vulnerable adults, students will need to complete an enhanced disclosure check for the Disclosure and Barring Services. The college will organise this for you but if your course is not fully funded i.e: if you are not 16-18 or on certain benefits then you may have to pay. The estimated cost of the DBS Check is £54. Full details regarding payment and documents required will be provided prior to enrolment.
