Engineering Level 2 Certificate at Harlow College

Course description

This course is designed to give you the training and education required to start a career in the engineering sector.

There is a wide range of engineering careers and they all start here. Engineering needs creative people who can work together to find solutions and solve problems. Engineering skills are of great value to organisations, employers, individuals and the economy.

Course content

Core modules

  • Working in engineering
  • Principles of engineering technology
  • Principles of manufacturing technology
  • Machine components using milling techniques
  • Machine components using turning techniques

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths.


You will be set daily targets and assessed against them at the end of each day. Projects, assignments, portfolio of evidence, multiple choice and written exams, practical assessments.

Financial information

Personal protective clothing (boots and overalls), pens and pencils, folder.

Intermediate/Advanced Level Apprenticeship Framework in Engineering.
