Law A Level at Paddington Academy

Course description

A Level Law aims to develop student’s understanding of legal reasoning and methods, to develop techniques of logical thinking and the skills to analyse and solve problems by applying legal rules. Students study the way that laws are made, elements of criminal and civil law, offences against the person (such as murder and GBH) and offences against property (such as robbery and theft). Law teaches skills that can be transferred to many other arts and humanities subjects and may lead to many careers in the legal profession and beyond

Law Making and the Legal System
One hour thirty minute exam worth 50%. Three questions

The Concept of Liability
One hour thirty minute exam worth 50%. Three questions

THE A2 LAW COURSE IN YEAR 13

Criminal Law (Offences against the Person)
One hour thirty minute exam worth 50%. One three-part question

Criminal Law (Offences against Property) and Concepts of Law
Two hour exam worth 50%.
