Media Studies - AS Level at RR6 Wimbledon
Why study Media? Media A Level students will develop both creative and technological skills and have opportunities to work individually and collaboratively. What topics will I study? You will have the opportunity to study a range of key areas such as: web-publishing, broadcasting and editing as well as looking at the concepts that underpin the major media industries of music, TV and radio. How will I be assessed? Assessment is equally split over examinations and practical productions. An example/illustration of the type of work involved: Students will be asked to create music videos targeting specific audiences and offer detailed analysis on marketing strategies.
GCSE English grade C or higher and ideally GCSE Media Studies grade C OR BTEC First Media at Pass or higher.
Media Studies is a stepping stone for careers such as journalism, marketing, advertising or public relations. It also provides a good foundation to embark on a range of courses at university.
