Sociology AS & A Level at Hove Park School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education (HE) and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research. Sociology will appeal to a cross-section of students, regardless of whether they have studied the subject before. They build on skills developed in the sciences and humanities, and enable progression into a wide range of other subjects.

Entry requirements

English, History or Sociology GCSE grade C or above.


100% exam – 3 exams lasting 2 hours each

Future opportunities

Sociology allows access to a wide range of career opportunities such as working for law firms, in advertising, public relations, social work, teaching and international affairs.
