Art and Design BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Bracknell and Wokingham College

Course description

This is an 18 unit course equivalent to three A Levels. Core units cover fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding of art and design including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and graphics. You will also take units which introduce you to the business and professional practices of working in the art and design industry. Specialist units complement and extend the scope of the core units and help you to focus your study in a particular direction, for example, the use of computer applications, photography and film.

Entry requirements

• Four GCSEs at grade C or above, including Art and English Language, or relevant vocational qualifications at Merit level or higher • If you do not have a grade C in GCSE maths you will be required to be working towards achieving this alongside your course

Future opportunities

• Higher Education - successful students may apply for degree or Higher National Diploma courses in art and design at university or art college. This course could give you between 120 and 420 UCAS points depending on your final grade • Employment – a career in areas such as animation, art history, fashion design, graphic design, ceramics or textiles
