The Apprenticeship offers a combination of qualifications that will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in a Management environment. Minimum Grade D in English and Maths at GCSE. You will have an initial assessment when you come in for an interview, and this will show the level of English and maths qualifications, known as functional skills, that you will study alongside your apprenticeship.

The Advanced Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to progress onto the Higher Level Apprenticeship. Learning will be tailored to your job role in your organisation, where it is likely you will be responsible for the delivery of a service or how other people carry out their work. You could be working as a Section Leader, Shift Manager, Team Leader, Floor Manager, Trainee Manager, Deputy Manager or Supervisor to name but a few job titles. By the end of this course you will have all the skills, knowledge and understanding you will need to build a rewarding career in a wide range of organisations.
You will also be able to move into Higher Education and will be able to apply for a range of University courses. These include higher level retail qualifications in buying and merchandising, visual merchandising or qualifications in management.
Many students progress on to Foundation Degrees at University Centre at Blackburn College. In particular, students progress on to Retail Management Foundation Degree FdA, Business Foundation Degree FdA, Hospitality Management Foundation Degree FdA or Hospitality Management (Events Management) Foundation Degree FdA.
