Hair and Media Make-up C&G Level 2 Diploma at Northampton College
This course covers a wide range of make-up, hair and media techniques. The method of learning is by a mixture of practical and theory sessions. Your course may include one late evening a week. The practical and theoretical aspects you will study include: -Day, evening and special occasion make-up -Eye treatments -Photographic make-up -Body art design -Skin tanning techniques -Colouring and dressing hair -Image design -Client care and communication -Health and safety -Working in industry -Anatomy and physiology You will also study Functional Skills or GCSE English and Mathematics dependent on your results for these at entry. After successful completion of this course you could progress to VRQ3 Media Make-up, VRQ3 Nail technology or VRQ2 Hairdressing. Alternatively you may choose to seek employment in the industry.
This course is for students wanting to achieve a Level 2 make-up artist qualification, for those who wish to gain entry onto a level 3 programme, or for those wishing to go into employment.
4 GCSEs at Grade D or above or an appropriate level 1 qualification.
Through practical work, oral questioning, online and written exams and assignments. You will need to produce assignments to a deadline. All assignments will be word processed and submitted online. A portfolio of work is also required as supporting evidence.
