Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs Grades C/D, (preferably Mathematics and Science) or successful completion of the Level 1 Engineering Technology and Functional Skills Level 1 or equivalent.

Assessment

Continuous observed assessment or practical competence and some end testing by external examinations.  A portfolio of evidence is also produced, which requires written statements of support knowledge.

Future opportunities

The qualification allows progression to the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
