Plumbing Level 3 Diploma at Blackburn College
During this Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing the college will provide you with a highly structured approach to training, where you will be introduced to the complex theory and practical skills required to install and maintain modern domestic plumbing systems such as: Complex Hot & Cold Water system installation, commissioning and fault ratification, Complex Sanitation system testing and commissioning, to name just a few areas that you will study.
You will learn skills used within the plumbing industry including:
- Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering
- Understand the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
- Plumbing system installation planning
- Complex Domestic Cold Water Systems
- Complex Domestic Hot Water Systems
- Sanitation and Drainage Systems
- Central Heating Systems
- Domestic Gas Principles
In addition, you will develop an understanding of the technology that underpins all plumbing installation work.
You will need a minimum of four GCSE passes at Grade C or above, to include: - English, Mathematics, ICT and Science, completion of the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies and a progression interview.
To be successful with the practical section of the course you will undertake supervised practical assessment/assignment tasks. On completion of the set tasks you will be assessed against the criteria set out by City & Guilds our awarding body.
Students could go into employment within the industry and be eligible to undertake the City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 & 3 Diplomas in Plumbing or a professional building course.
RECOGNITION AS A QUALIFIED PLUMBER REQUIRES COMPLETION OF A PLUMBING NVQ. WHICH CAN ONLY BE OBTAINED WHILST WORKING WITHIN THE PLUMBING INDUSTRY.
