Course description

Unit 1 (ECON 1): Markets and Market Failure
Exploring the Basic Economic Problem, the function of an Economy, and the factors of Demand and Supply that lead to Price Determination in a Market, before studying the Elasticity of Demand, Efficiency and Market Failure.
Unit 2 (ECON 2): The National Economy
Exploring the National Economic Performance and the Economic Cycle, understanding Consumption, Investment, Saving and Government Spending in the Economy and how factors such as Unemployment, Inflation and Economic Growth are determined in, and affect, the Economy.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 6 GCSE passes at grade C or above
