Performing Arts BTEC Diploma Level 3 at The John Wallis Church of England Academy

Course description

Level 3 BTEC National in Performing Arts course is a broad-based performance course suitable to students who are already with a performance company or those who want to work in drama, dance, stage management or arts administration. The programmes develop the professional and personal skills needed for a range of careers either in, or related to, the performing arts. They also allow some specialisation from a range of options. This course is run over two years.
Study units include: Dance/Movement/Physical Theatre, Theatre Acting, TV and Film Acting, Singing - Solo and Choral.
This is a vocational course which requires team work and commitment. All students take part in work experience programmes and participate in a wide range of performances and visits.

There are no examinations on this course. Qualification is gained through continual assessment

Entry requirements

Students will require 4 GCSE's at C grade or above, a GNVQ Intermediate at Merit or Diploma. Experience in drama, dance or singing is recommended. Students will need energy and commitment, imagination, creativity, reliability and self-discipline.

Future opportunities

The course can develop career prospects within the performing arts industry and also progression to Further and Higher Education.
