Sport BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Fulham College Boys' School

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 in Sport course combines academic units and practical experiences. Learners will gain an in-depth understanding of the structure of the sport & leisure industry and gain the skills and knowledge for employment in sports development or coaching. The programme consists of modules such as:- training & fitness, the body in action, fitness testing, psychology for sports performance, nutrition, sports injuries, analysis of performance, health & lifestyle and sport in society. As part of the course, students will also be able to study for Sports Leaders Awards, working with local schools to help develop their leadership skills. BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport provides a solid foundation to the sports sector and will enable learners to gain the essential skills for gaining employment, career progression or higher education.

Entry requirements

A level 2 qualification in sport would be an advantage.

    • Fulham Enterprise Studio is a Studio School and the first of its kind in inner-London. It is part of the Fulham College Academy Trust which includes Fulham College Boys’ and Fulham Cross Girls’ Schools. Fulham Enterprise Studio accepts girls and boys of all abilities at age 14 and into the Sixth Form, to study the National Curriculum, GCSE, BTEC and A Levels. It specialises in Construction and Performing Arts (Production) and the associated business enterprise skills.

      To be eligible for entry at age 14, team members need to already be attending either Fulham College Boys’ School or Fulham Cross Girls’ School. Sixth Form team members may apply from any school, although priority will be given to Fulham College Academy Trust team members.

      Teaching and learning at Fulham Enterprise Studio is very different to a traditional school. Team Members do much of their learning through projects with relevance to real-life work situations and through work placements. They also have a greater opportunity to develop ‘soft skills’ that will make them more employable. Every team member at Fulham Enterprise Studio has the support of a Personal Coach and the school has a number of local employer partners.
