Health & Social Care Level 3 BTEC at The Open Academy

Course description

This course will appeal to those students who enjoy studying a subject that is relevant to their own lives and experience, and offers the opportunity to carry out practical work as well as class work. Students will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop skills, knowledge and understanding in health, social care and early years. The course will help you develop key transferable skills that are highly valued by employers and universities.

The course is100% coursework.

Assignments will include: individual research, group work, project work, oral presentations, visual displays and written assignments. The Level 3 Diploma is worth 2 A Levels and will be completed over two years.

This course will provide access to a wide range of careers, apprenticeship or progression to university to study a related degree. Future careers may include social work, teaching, youth work, and working in the health care sector and police force.

Entry requirements

This course requires a minimum of five GCSEs, grades A* - C including English, Maths and preferably Science, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
