Childcare at Magnus Church of England Academy

Course description

The aim of the BTEC National is to provide a broad experience of the health and social care sector. You will study units including; Effective Communication, Equality, Diversity and Rights, Personal and Professional Development, Values and Planning in Social Care, Caring for Children and Young People. Complementary Therapies e.g. baby massage, reflexology, health promotion and counselling skills will also be taught.

Your programme of study will be delivered via a number of assignments which each student needs to pass in order to successfully complete a unit. If you successfully study the course for two years, you will be awarded the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care which is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Entry requirements

You will need to have a genuine interest in Health and Social Care or a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care to take this course.
