Legal Secretarial Course with Office Skills at Palmer's College
This course is a two year course for students who wish to take three or four A levels plus the Legal Secretaries with Office Skills course. It does not lead to an CILEx qualification – see CILEx Diploma for Legal Secretaries. You will learn how to produce legal documents and learn legal terminology as part of the OCR Certificate/Diploma in Text Production at levels 2 and 3, plus you will study Business Communications. Level 2 is studied in the first year and level 3 in the second year.
OCR Text Processing Certificate/Diploma – Levels 2 and 3 which includes:
• text production
• word processing
• legal text processing
• legal word processing
• legal audio transcription
• business presentations (PowerPoint)
Business Communications includes learning how to produce a variety of business documents e.g. business letters, memos, reports, agendas, faxes, e-mails, questionnaires, advertisements etc.
GCSE English at grade C or above is essential.
To continue on to the second year of the course, students must pass the first year exams.
On completion of this course, you can pursue a career as a Legal Secretary. Palmer’s College has strong links with legal firms in London and locally and our students are offered placements with these firms each year.
