Course description

The course covers the use and care of tools and equipment. Bending, jointing and fixing copper, steel and plastic pipework, interpreting plans and specifications, installing heating and plumbing systems, health & safety, building regulations. The course contains a high level of practical work. It is important that strict safety rules and regulations are observed at all times. Course Content * NVQ Level 2 * Technical Certificate Level 2 * Health & Safety * Risk Assessment Log Book * Key Skills in Communication, Application of Number and IT * Employment Rights and Responsibilities * Assessment in the Workplace Portfolio Management The learner has responsibility for collecting evidence and recording work activities that will provide evidence of competence. Personal Requirements Good level of Maths, GCSE A*-C desirable. Ability to use your initiative and problem solve. The duration of this programme is 2 years for the Apprenticeship plus the possibility of progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship for a further year

Entry requirements

Good standard of literacy and numeracy. Applicants must have employment or be seeking employment in occupational area. Assistance will be given in Job Search

You will be able to progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Heating & Ventilation
