Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology

Units of work

BTEC Level 3 offers a practical course which explores the following units:

Ò Music Production Techniques Ò Sequencing Systems

Ò Delivering a Musical Product Ò The Sound & Music Industry

Ò Listening skills for Music Technologists Ò Music Technology in Performance

Assessment

Ò Each unit of work is split into several assignments with their own deadlines

Ò Grading for the assignments is Pass, Merit & Distinction and assignments can be resubmitted

Ò The qualification count for 2 A levels and can be studied as a Subsidiary diploma (3 units, 5 lessons a week) or the full diploma (6 units, 10 lessons a week)

Be a confident performer who is self-motivated to practise at least 3 hours a week

Be interested in the technical aspects of Music

Be willing to learn the theory behind composition

 

Be practical and hands on

Be open to learning about a wide variety of styles of music

 

Be happy to try out a variety of roles such as researcher, sound engineer, composer etc.

….Be hard working! This course is NOT an easy option. But it will be fun!
