Vehicle Refinishing and Body Repair Level 1 Diploma at Hull College Group

Course description

Looking to take the first steps to repair and paint a car, which would not look out of place on the set of Fast and Furious?  Then this level 1 course is for you

It will give you the skills to repair minor dents, apply primers and then refinish them to a high standard.  You will learn to fabricate vehicle panels, use a range of welding techniques and gain skills in removing and refitting vehicle body panels

Course content

  • Removing and Replacing Vehicle Body Panels
  • Re-Spraying Panels in Primers and Top Coats
  • Dent Removal
  • MIG Welding Techniques
  • Fabrication Techniques

Entry requirements

A suitable initial assessment at Level 1 or GCSE garde A-C. No formal entry requirements for this qualification.

Selection criteria for entry should take unto account each applicant's existing academic/vocational qualifications, experience and interest in working in the industry sectors.

Financial information

Students are expected to provide personal protective equipment, boots, overalls and general stationery equipment. Details of requirements will be given at interview.

Future opportunities

Students will have the opportunity to progress on to Level 2 Body Repair or Level 2 Refinishing
